Paper Pumpkin and Tape It

I just joined My Paper Pumpkin last month. I enjoyed creating the 4 cards from the Starter Kit. And I love the sentiment that came with it. I combined the sentiment and splat stamp with my new Tape It set. I tried two slightly different layouts. I love the Crumb Cake card base.

Borrowing My Mom's Mosaic Madness

Do you know that my mom is an awesome stamper? She may also be the only reader of this blog. :) But maybe someday after I've become a rich and famous stamper people will come look at this blog and I'd like you all to know how great my mom is! :)

She came to visit this past week and brought me TONS of fun new things. She also brought some of her own stash to share with me while she was here. One thing on my wish list is the Mosaic Madness Bundle. She brought along the stamp set and matching punch for me to drool over experiment with.

Here are the three cards I made one night as I played with this WONDERFUL set.

Card #1 - A CASE from Stampin' Connection
This card is almost an exact copy of one I saw on Stampin' Connection from Jackie Bolhuis (I couldn't find a blog link, sorry). I love the sentiment from Too Kind (another set mom brought along to play with).

Card #2 - Happy Birthday

Three Cards from Six Sided Sampler

The first bundle I purchased out of the new catalog was the Six-Sided Sampler. This adorable stamp set and matching punch are full of possibilities - color combos, layers, and super sweet sentiments. Here are three cards I made when I sat down with my new bundle.

Card #1 - Happy Father's Day
I don't own a "Happy Father's Day" stamp, but I thought the "Thankful for you" banner stamp served its purpose. The stamped hexagons are both Midnight Muse and Gumball Green stamped and stamped again without re-inking to give it a bit of an ombray effect.

Supplies:
Whisper White Card Stock
Midnight Muse Card Stock
Gumball Green Card Stock
Midnight Muse Ink Pad
Gumball Green Ink Pad
Six-Sided Sampler Stamp Set
Banner Greetings Hostess Stamp Set
Hexagon Punch

Card #2 - Trying to make a pattern
This was tough! Here is where I should plug the Stamp-a-ma-jig. I don't own one, but it would have definitely come in handy here.

Supplies:
Whisper White Card Stock
Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock
Baked Brown Sugar Ink Pad
Strawberry Slush Ink Pad
Coastal Cabana Ink Pad
Six-Sided Sampler Stamp Set
Hexagon Punch

Card #3 - Layers
My favorite! I punched the white layer to show the Coastal Cabana card stock beneath, as well as punched out the Crisp Cantaloupe hexagons and raised them up with a Stampin' Dimensional.

Supplies:
Whisper White Card Stock
Coastal Cabana Card Stock
Strawberry Slush Ink Pad
Crisp Cantaloupe Ink Pad
Coastal Cabana Ink Pad

Kindness Matters

I made this card today to encourage a friend. Our families both participate in a program that cares for children whose families need extra support. She's had her current little guy for 2 months now. Sometimes it's hard to open your home and your heart to someone for that long without worrying about getting hurt. I wanted her to remember why we signed up for the program in the first place: because Kindness Matters. It matters to these families and it matters to these babies. I even felt encouraged by the message myself as I made the card for her!

Pinterest Inspiration

I'm still plugging away at designing cards for my first workshop. I've created a board on Pinterest to collect cards I find beautiful/fun/inspiring. My second workshop card was inspired by this:

You can visit the original card by Chat here. So cute!

I studied the basic layout and then pulled out my Designer Series Paper to flip through for color inspiration. I lingered on the Polka Dot Parade paper, but I was afraid the polka dots were too crazy. But then I FLIPPED the PACK OVER! So perfect! I love that Stampin' Up! DSP is double sided - twice the options! So here's what I came up with:
I just love the color combo. And I was so thankful for the inspiration from the Pinterest pin. Two cards for the workshop done! Only one more to go!

MOJO Monday 282

Strep throat struck our house this week! Not a fun time for a mama of three little boys. Luckily (luckily?) the littlest was already on an antibiotic for an ear infection, so he was spared. I sneaked away to stamp when I could, but needed something quick and easy. Enter the lovely MOJO Monday sketch challenges! I took a look at the sketch, fanned through my DSP for inspiration and ta-da! a card is born:
This cute little 4 1/4" square card is brought to you by strep throat insanity and the lovely Comfort Cafe DSP.

More Sycamore Street Fun

I had so much fun making a card for the Paper Players #133 challenge, that I kept going with the Sycamore Street designer paper. Isn't this paper fun?
My first try at lining up the pennants didn't go as planned. But they still looked so cute that I didn't have the heart to throw them away. So I made them into this little note:
I figure it's the perfect size to write an encouraging word on and hand to a friend.
