Three simple minicards to hand out to friends this weekend. This is the first time I've used the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to make a background to the card. It was a simple way to add some texture.

MOJO 285
Well, I must admit that this card was hard fought. I saw the sketch on this week's Mojo Monday challenge and it seemed really busy to me. I looked at the samples, and they too seemed to have a lot going on. I think I'm more of a clean and simple stamper, so I was stumped. But I was determined to make myself come up with something that matched the sketch but stayed true to my style. The hardest part for me were the corners. They just kept looking so weird. But I finally laid them on to look like photo corners and it worked. Now I'm actually kinda digging this card. I have a bridal shower to attend this weekend and I think this card will work out great.

Shhh! Don't tell my family I'm on the computer! We all agreed yesterday to go "Screen Free" for the week, but I just HAD to sneak on to see what the MOJO Monday sketch challenge was today. And once I created this beauty, I just HAD to sneak back on after bedtime to post my card. It'll be our little secret!

Pinterest Inspiration
I'm still plugging away at designing cards for my first workshop. I've created a board on Pinterest to collect cards I find beautiful/fun/inspiring. My second workshop card was inspired by this:
You can visit the original card by Chat here. So cute!
I studied the basic layout and then pulled out my Designer Series Paper to flip through for color inspiration. I lingered on the Polka Dot Parade paper, but I was afraid the polka dots were too crazy. But then I FLIPPED the PACK OVER! So perfect! I love that Stampin' Up! DSP is double sided - twice the options! So here's what I came up with:
I just love the color combo. And I was so thankful for the inspiration from the Pinterest pin. Two cards for the workshop done! Only one more to go!

HSS Color Challenge #153
I've been searching around for good challenges to join to help me get started stamping. Today's card is inspired by a color challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments. The challenge was to create a card using the colors Cherry Cobbler, Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo, and any Neutral. I went really simple with my design. An anniversary card for my husband can't be too flowery, so I think this card strikes a nice balance.
